How the awards are judged

The Education Resources Awards are independently judged by a panel of expert judges, comprising teaching professionals renowned for their experience and knowledge of products and resources within the education sector. Each entry will be independently and impartially judged on its own merits, with complete confidentiality to select the winners for each of the individual awards categories. The judges will place an entry in a more appropriate category if they think it is applicable.

Closing date for entry 2025 is 27th February 2025.

Please read this guidance carefully and let us know as soon as possible if you have any questions.

All judging will take place online

Round 1 judging takes place on 11th, 12th & 13th March 2025

Working individually, judges will be asked to review your entry and score it against the judging criteria. To do this they will use your entry form, your website and any supporting material you have submitted.

Since judges will not have access to a physical copy of your product, could you please also supply the following to assist them:

  • Login details and instructions for any online products
  • A video demonstration for any physical product(s)

At the end of the first round the judges’ preliminary scores will be tallied up and the top 10-15 entries in each category will be invited to go through to round 2. If you have been selected to take part in round 2 you will be notified.

Tips for the video – Round 2

For round 2 each entrant will asked for a 2-3 minute video to pitch your product for the judges to watch.

The video presentation does NOT need to be a slick marketing video, it can as simple as one person explaining to camera how to use your product. It can be recorded on your phone or via zoom. Please submit as a link to an externally hosted platform such as YouTube or Vimeo, or to a website where the video is hosted. Please do not send large video files. Please submit your video as soon as you can, to give the judges maximum time to view the video.

Round 2 takes place 25th, 26th & 27th March 2025

We will provide further guidance on these pitches should you be shortlisted.

Once all video presentations have been made, the judges will then deliberate together online and make their final decisions for each category.

Please note: The judges’ decision is final.

The organisers reserve the right to change deadline dates and categories as appropriate.
