Best Sustainability Initiative

This award is open to schools and MATs at any age range or sector of the education market and seeks to recognise a partnership between a supplier and a school or multi-academy trust that has enabled the school/MAT to meet their environmental and social sustainability goals. The initiative must have been launched or developed on or before March 2021

The initiative should be focused on at least one of the following three areas:

  • Campus – how has the project enabled the school to become more environmentally friendly within its building and grounds. For example installing solar panels, recycling facilities, zero food packaging waste
  • Curriculum – how has the collaboration facilitated the teaching of the climate emergency or principles of sustainability and the move to net zero to students
  • Community – how have the supplier and school worked together to further awareness of, or drive environmental initiatives within the wider community in which the school operates

Word count:

Each application must be supported by an in-depth case of 1500 words complete with evidence to demonstrate the measurable impact of the initiative, and include testimonials from a named individual at the school outlining the impact the initiative has had. Evidence could be in the form of a written document or a video presentation of no more than 2 minutes duration.
